The Mandate

A continental body advancing the rights, voice and economic participation of young women aged 14–40 across Africa.

The Mission

To unite, empower, and mobilize young women across Africa to drive positive change, promote gender equality, social justice, and human rights, and amplify their voices and contributions to Africa's development.

Thirteen aims. One continental ambition.

Contribute to changing the lives of young women of Africa for the better by uniting and empowering them across Africa to drive positive change and promote gender equality.

Restore the dignity and integrity of Africa and her people by encouraging African patriotism, regional integration and cooperation of our member countries.

Fight against regionalism, xenophobia, racism, patriarchy and imperialism.

Develop young women who will be selfless game changers and ready to make a difference in the transformation and decolonisation of Africa.

Promote dialogue and accountability of Africans to resolve disputes, conflict and wars; promote social justice, human rights, and sustainable development in Africa.

Strive for a safe continent and safe migration for young women, confronting human trafficking and forced sex work on the continent.

Fight for the economic emancipation of women in the continent; develop solutions to confront hunger and poverty.

Confront oppressive cultural, religious and traditional practices on the continent that perpetuate patriarchy and the continuous oppression of African young women and girls.

Support, develop, and lobby for African women representation and leadership in decision making bodies in our countries, continent, and all spheres of life.

Decolonise and transform the education system of our member countries and the continent; promote research and African thinking for the development of Africa.

Strive for inclusivity and intersectionality on the African continent by supporting all oppressed people of Africa, including rural women, women with disabilities, and marginalised communities.

Promote unity, peace, security, stability and solidarity of African people and women in particular.

Advance democracy and promote human and women rights.

    Empowerment

    • Build the capacity and confidence of young women to take leadership roles in their communities.
    • Provide training, mentorship, and networking opportunities for young women.
  2. 02

    Advocacy

    • Advocate for policies and laws that promote gender equality, social justice, and human rights.
    • Raise awareness about issues affecting young women in Africa — gender-based violence, climate change, education, and socio-economic empowerment.
  3. 03

    Community Development

    • Support community development projects that promote leadership and empowerment for young women.
    • Partner with local and multinational organisations and communities to drive positive change.
  4. 04

    Networking

    • Build partnerships with other organisations, governments, and stakeholders to advance the interests of young women in Africa.
    • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among young women across Africa.

    Research & Policy

    • Conduct research on issues affecting young women in Africa and develop policy recommendations.
    • Influence policy decisions that affect young women in Africa.
